What is Root Control?

PIPE PROTECTION 

Root intrusion can be a huge threat to residential wastewater systems. When roots are left to grow unchecked they will block material, cause a complete obstruction of the pipe, and eventually even destroy a sewer or septic system. Nor-Cal Pipeline Services offers Root Control.  This process eliminates roots in residential storm pipes, sewer lines, and septic systems. Nor-Cal utilizes RootX®, a non-caustic, non-fumigating and non-systemic patented formula that foams when it encounters water allowing it to reach the top of the pipe - where 90% of the roots are likely to live. Nor-Cal Pipeline Services is the only Class A Contractor in the state of CA to be a certified applicator by The RootX Company. Nor-Cal has treated just over 500,000 LF (98 miles) of pipe and counting. 

RootX® Technology

RootX has been used by municipal and residential customers in the United States, Canada and Australia for more than 25 years. RootX is registered with the U.S. EPA in all 50 states (EPA Reg. No. 68464-1) for use in both sanitary and storm sewers and is in compliance with both Federal and State regulations. RootX foam adheres to tops and sides of pipe requiring no bypass of flow. The roots are impacted at the lateral connections the day of treatment and decompose after treatment. Root growth is controlled for up to two year. Any pipe size can be treated from 6” to 84” diameter.
